Regional economic development in Ghana has long been the domain of public bodies that plan, semi-public agencies that convene, and single-sector firms that build in isolation. VBI exists to do what none of them is structured to do — acquire, integrate and operate the basin's water, energy, land, resources and connectivity as one economy.

Following the water across the Eastern and Volta Regions, and anchored by the established Eretsuts Global — Famepo Grow Group partnership, we convert regional development from ambition into operation.

The Premise

Gains in one pillar de-risk all the others.

The basin's endowments are being pursued in isolation. We sequence them as one economy.

Water from the Volta River system, arable floodplain land, strong solar exposure, and largely undeveloped resource and connectivity potential — today these are addressed in separate, sector-specific efforts. VBI provides the framework for sequencing and coordinating them, so that reliable power directly accelerates irrigation pumping, cold storage, mineral processing and telecommunications infrastructure.

Who We Are

The Volta Basin Initiative is a multi-sector regional development agenda dedicated to harnessing the primary economic opportunities within and around Ghana's Volta Basin — pursued through a private, comprehensive platform for investment acquisition and management.

The Initiative builds on the established partnership between Eretsuts Global Ltd. and Famepo Grow Group, drawing on the complementary strengths of both firms to execute the project. It brings coordinated, commercially disciplined execution to a space that has historically been fragmented and public-led.

To accelerate integrated regional development across the Volta Basin by acquiring, structuring and managing investment across irrigation, energy, resources and connectivity — coordinating these efforts as one economy and ensuring the value created is shared with the communities of the basin.
